Professional Cookery Student Secures Chef Job at CalMac Ferries
Twenty-nine-year-old Nathan McGonigal from Greenock has always had a passion for cooking and working as a Kitchen Porter at a local care home gave him a taste for the industry. Striving for more and with some encouragement from a friend he decided to follow his dream and apply to study Professional Cookery at West College Scotland. Going from strength to strength, Nathan has now secured his first Chef role at CalMac Ferries.

Former WCS Business Student Wins Prestigious 2021 Farmplanner Award
Thirty-four-year-old, Debbie Dawkins has made the transition from college to university with ease. After successfully completing her HND in Business at West College Scotland, Debbie was accepted on to year three at SRUC to study a degree in Rural Business Management. Having been awarded her college graduation class prize, Debbie has continued to excel, going on to scoop the prestigious 2021 Farmplanner Award.
