Transitions 2 Creative Industries

What will I learn?

A full-time course aimed at students who are interested in progressing to higher level NC courses in the following Creative Industries subject areas:

  • Graphic Design with Illustration
  • Interior Architecture and Design
  • Media
  • Photography

Being able to think creatively and work on projects are key skills you’ll need in the creative industries and many other sectors of employment.

In the first part of this course, you will be given a taster of all 4 subject areas. At the end of the tasters you will have the opportunity to specialise in either Graphic Design & Interior Architecture or Photography & Media. You’ll be introduced to these through interactive, practical experiences in your chosen disciplines.

You’ll learn to plan your time and apply what you’ve learned while working on small-scale live projects. Practical workshops, digital technology and field trips will ground your learning in the world beyond college and help you build your CV. You’ll be given opportunities to collaborate and showcase your work. Once you’ve settled in, you’ll have access to facilities and kit outwith class time to develop your ideas and build your portfolio.

What qualifications do I need?

None, but students will require to attend an informal interview. Applicants should use the personal statement section of the application form to tell us which subject area interests them most: graphic design with illustration; interior architecture and design; media or photography
