What will I learn?
Candidates will gain the knowledge and opportunity to reflect on their role as a supervisor in a care setting through completing 2 units that include:
- The principles of supervision
- The purpose and functions of supervision
- Communication skills
- The role of the supervisor in managing resources
- Codes of practice and conduct, roles, and responsibilities
- Workforce regulation and legal requirements
- Models and methods of supervision
- Teamworking
What qualifications do I need?
Candidates must be in a supervisory role in care employment to be able to undertake this qualification.
This PDA is at SCQF level 7 so candidates must be able to write academically and carry out individual reading and research. There will be tutorial support sessions available.
What can I do after?
This PDA is recommended by SSSC for supervisors for registration purposes
